Girls Beware
Beware while using the trial rooms anywhere: GIRLS BE CAREFUL
Have you seen recent advertisement of M/S SAINT GOBAIN GLASSES shown in TELEVISION'S - Then you must have known about 2 Way mirror)
How to determine if a mirror is 2 way or not ? (Not a Joke!)
Not to scare you, but to make sure that you aware. Many of the Hotels and Textile showrooms cheat the customers this way.
HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR?
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms , changing rooms, etc., How many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror I.e., they can see you, but you can't see them. There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms or bathroom or bedrooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?
CONDUCT THIS SIMPLE TEST:
Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror.
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR! (There may be someone seeing you from the other side).. So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the 'fingernail test.' It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do.
This is a really good thing to do. The reason there is a gap on a real mirror, is because the silver is on the back of the mirror UNDER the glass. Whereas with a two-way mirror, the silver is on the surface. Keep it in mind! Make sure and check every time you enter in hotel rooms.

The only way to see CHANGE - GO VOTE
Its been sometime that we are watching this ad and its only today that I visited the site. It certainly makes sense to register on the site and follow the steps they suggested.
How long are we going to just sit tight at homes or sleep at homes on the day of voting and bear the brunt for the next five years??? Its time we better get ready to vote, at least with elections coming soon both at the center and in many other states.
On the lighter side:
I think The TATAs got frustrated with all these corrupt ministers and want to bring some change in the youth of this country and thus this initiative.

Old Wine in New Bottle
Yes, its about a similar concept called "Fake experiences in India". This time the story is a little interesting.
A person known to me wanted to change his domain of work, to Telecom Protocol Testing. So he came to Bangalore and tried to pursue some education on the same. He bumped into an institute which just teaches the same. The features of the institute are as follows ...

- Instructor is already a Team Lead in an MNC, in Bangalore.
- 45 days of instruction about Telecom Protocols and Software Testing
- Placement Assistance (This is the interesting topic)
- Fake experiences provided
- Fake experience Support is provided only till three years
- Extended support after three years comes at a premium cost
- You will also be guided on which companies do a background check and which do not
- Institute is in BTM phase - II

Another Holiday - Gandhi Jayanti
Yes, its October 2nd and time to think about what happened with Indians few decades ago. But first, my salute to all those great men and women whom Gandhi represents in the freedom struggle.
However I was pondering one thing. What was Gandhi's message for the country? Was he expecting people to have a holiday on his birthday and recreate? or did he expect us to work still harder at least for another day for our country's prosperity.
Just a thought.

India Shining???

If we have to evaluate ourselves and write a progress card every year, yes it should be today. I am not good at statistics however I have a thought. Rather than evaluating what are the development statistics overall, one has to write a progress card of his own on the following subjects
Community Development
Charity
Cleanliness of our place
Disciplined driving
Teaching good habits to people around
Striving for organizational benefits
Spirit of UNITY
Genuineness
Standing for Truth and Dharma
If we can evaluate ourselves on a 10 point scale here then I am sure the country shall progress very soon. Anyway
Happy Independence Day - India

This is Congress & the Nuclear Deal
There was a time when I was a staunch believer in Congress. However after the regime of Mr. Rao, Congress has seen its worst times. The big theme of Congress always was, however the behave or whatever mess they do with the country, at least some big time profitable thing is done in the five year tenure. The first one I remember is the Bofors guns. This one gave wonderful reply to our next door enemies during the Kargil war.
Now after long that Congress has come back to power and are going to lose it in few more months, they are trying the same thing again. The best part of it is, this time its going to benefit the entire country and fuel its growth. Yes I am talking about the Nuclear deal.
This deal undoubtedly shall put India in the forefront when it comes to Power Generation. Our country desperately needs this way of power generation as our developments are getting hampered just for the same problem since years.
At such a juncture, unfortunately these crooked politicians are playing money games to support the deal. There are few other mahatmas who are completely against it. Openly Congress is buying the MPs for their Votes. We are all watching it. These are the people whom we elected expecting them to do something better for us.
How shameless could these mantris be to behave so meanly. My dear friends/citizens of this country, we are wasting our votes on these filthy people. We need to come up with some ideas where we can curb these bloody politicians and work for the benefit of ourselves.

What happened to Mr.Babu???
There was a time when my orkut profile was titled - "Babu should be back as AP CM". Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu was remarked as a great statesman who has highlighted Andhra Pradesh not only in the Indian Political Map but also in the International. Such a great personality, today disappointingly, not only goes against the Nuclear deal, but also goes and shakes hand with a person, who can be considered as a meanest politician, Sri Mayawati.
I personally feel ashamed for this act of Babu. During my college days, we invited Mr. ChandraBabu Naidu as the chief guest for our convocation. That day was a pride for every Andhrite student. Our peers respected us that we hail from the same state where Babu reigns. Yesterday couple of my friends messaged me saying " ... shame on you and your Babu ... shaks he supports Mayawati ..."
I had no answer. Dont know what else to say ...

People who talk about "LEAD INDIA"
Last Saturday, i.e. on 17-May 2008 my wife called to Times of India. She requested them to post a missing person ad, as one of her relatives went missing in Bangalore. The classifieds person gave the TOI office number in MG Road. We called up the office and the person lifted the call says, he is no way responsible for such things and he will not take the request. When asked who will do it and when the one rude reply we got was, "Everybody is off and Sunday no one works and thus they cannot take the request until Monday and only Tuesday an ad can be published".
Amazing isn't it?
A 50 year old lady goes missing and neither the police nor the press act quickly to help. We went to the Yeshwantpur police station to file a compliant on Friday night, and not even a single person responded. They asked for money even to flash the news over their wireless. Only the next day after a lot of fight they registered a compliant.
Unfortunately none of us knew Kannada, and even the SI in the police station spoke any other language other than Kannada. It was very tough understanding what they want and what they say.
This is the state of officials here. They neither know their duty, nor the principle of "Tribhasha sutra" - which means every person in India should know English and Hindi along with his mother tongue.
TOI which speaks all nonsense about a change in the system, doesn't have a system in place to incorporate what they speak.
Folks, welcome to India.

Are Cheer Leaders in IPLT-20 really behaving obscene?
Ok the entire nation knows what we are talking about.
After looking at this, I have one question. Respectable MP Sir were you sleeping at that time? Ok, now moving to the present.
Smt. Sushma Swaraj, when she was the Minister for Broadcast and Communications, banned FTv, saying it was not good for kids at home. Well I have one question. Ma'am you can get an hour of browsing for Rs.5 these days where all the porn and exotic content is available for free. What have you done to that?
I know the basics of internet. Almost all the sites on the internet have ratings and the websites are classified into types by the nature of the content they post. All the adult websites are Content rated as sex.
Every damn gateway on Earth has features enough to stop/allow content based on the type. So why can't these porn sites be blocked at Indian gateway?
Are you afraid of someone that you are unable to block them or do you like to watch them personally?
Dear Mantris:
Don't try to act smart, be smart and make a better India for everyone.

TV9 - Disrespect towards leaders
To those who are not aware, there is a Television channel named TV9. It has its network in many states and in different languages. I am writing only with respect to TV9-Andhra Pradesh transmitted in Telugu.
TV9 came into existence only by the way it used present its news, the variety and depth of coverage from all parts of the state. These days its quality has deteriorated in two major categories
1. News: There was almost four hours of airtime spent per day on the movie Jalsa. The amount of time being spent on issues like poverty, sanitation, government offices, delays in projects, rowdyism, police brutalities etc has come down. Nonsense and highly unimportant data is being flushed out for hours together.
2. Anchors: The anchors dress themselves in flashy suits and excellent dresses. However they lack minimum courtesy. The way the male readers read out is something like they are shouting at us rather than reading out for us. Especially there is one fool who is the lead newsreader who doesn't have any respect for the leaders of the nation. To tell you people, Mr. N Chandra Babu Naidu is the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh (AP). Mr Y S RajaSekhara Reddy is the current Chief minister of AP.
This reporter neither prefixes a Mr. nor a Sri. neither suffixes a "Garu" (A word of respect) when uttering their names. These people are addressed as if they are his servants at home. I strongly condemn this.
The TV channels should have some respect to the leaders leading us. There should be some respect attributed when speaking about them.

House for Rs.1,50,000 - Possible?
I remember a good joke from a movie, released two years back. Its like this.
A son writes an essay for his essay competition. The essay says there is a very very poor family. They are struggling to eat. Their gardener is very poor. Their servants are very poor. Their car driver is very poor. Interrupting the son, his father gives him one tight slap and says, how come a poor guy has a driver, gardener and servants. ........
Similar situation is running now in Andhra Pradesh, India. The current chief minister of the state Mr. Reddy announced that the poor who posses a White Ration Card, can get a house upon payment of Rs.150000 i.e. one and half lakh rupees. I have a question, Sir if they really had that amount in hand why would ever they be rated as below poverty line and be given white ration cards?
And my dear readers, to tell you the real story, all the politicians, real estate guys etc are buying these houses in black. Not even a single house is being alloted to poor. I personally know people who are buying so.
The chief minister is just playing fool of every common man and he is being successful.

Reply to a comment
Someone commented on my previous blog, regarding the SBI ATM. The person asked me why did I take pictures, thinking its not allowed to take pictures in ATM.
All I ever knew/read at ATMs was
Not to
1. Use mobile phones
2. Wear head gear/helmets etc
3. enter in groups.
Even if there was a rule not to click, how would one bring out the nonsense going around?

What kind of people fly these days?
I was traveling to Visakhapatnam, on my favorite Air Deccan. Its implicit that once you have thought of flying to Visakhapatnam, to find 50% of the passengers to be just rich and nothing else. The least courteous people, to add.
This time one step ahead of my observations, the individual infront of me bought a sandwich. Now as you know everyone needs their place to be clean, least bothered about others. This guy after eating his sandwich drops his trash in a vacant seat. One should learn from him how to keep their place clean. Don't you think?
These days it has become a mandate for the air hostess to stand in the middle of the flight, once it landed to control people who just get out of their seats, even when the seat belt sign is on. The lady begs while announcing "Please do not stand" several times and people still are reluctant to hold on for few more minutes.

Does P stand for Politeness for POLICE?
I was driving to my office on Friday. A police gypsy numbered KA01 G 2909 just over took me from the left. First time he waved and I gave way. Then rather than continuing in the main lane (the four wheeler lane) the driver rashly pushed into the side lane. As usual he couldn't make it. I was already half way through and suddenly he just waves his hand and squeezed his car rather barged into my space and when I honk I get an arrogant look from the driver and I missed the collision by a hairline.
These people who just survive on tax payers like us return this courtesy back to us.
On the same day to claim insurance for my car, which got scratched by kids on street, I had to get an FIR. I just paid Rs. 4000 as bribe without which the Sub Inspector said he will not process.
This is the fate of my country.

Were these ever implemented?

There you see the list of penalties one need to pay for every different kind of a traffic violation. There is no one to collect these and no one to pay. Its not because we are in utopia, but because no police is ready to take the extra step in levying them on the defaulters.
God help this nation.

Why does this happen only with India? Being silent and wanting peace doesn't mean we are shameless and helpless. I think countries like China, Bangladesh and especially Pakistan should understand that if India starts taking things seriously, it would be worse than the war against terrorism launched by United States. India has never lost a battle, folks remember that.
I still remember Bangladeshi border forces opening fire on our BSF jawans for no reason and we lost 14 of our brave BSF men for nothing. India has forgiven Bangladesh considering it as a childishly foolish act. It would not have taken even a half day to erase Bangladesh out of the maps.
Very similarly, just because of Her Highness Smt. Indira Gandhi's request for peace that we have forgiven Pakistan in the 1971 war, in which our soldiers have walked till Karachi. Folks you wanted Pakistan as a special Muslim country, it was given and be happy with it.
And now China, I am not aware of what you have, but when it comes to India we have a strong united spirit when it comes to country. We don't need F16s to rip someone's ass apart. Just like Trojan war, we can walk in and slit one away when someone tries to conspire against our Mother India.

Faking one's experience has become the practice of the Industry???
Pondering yesterday about what has everyone got for what they are, I was astonished by the fact that all the class toppers in my class are just doing good, however the average guys are doing much better. My engineering class toppers are just working for ordinary packages in good companies and the others are working for exemplary packages.
Faking one's experience has become a part and parcel of many IT professionals' lives. I can tell you a wonderful story.
Few of my intelligent and hardworking friends resorted to their masters after completing engineering. Remaining people who couldn't clear their exams or didnt get jobs were just roaming on roads with their parents money for almost two years. By the time these intelligents completed their Masters, these people who enjoyed their two years flaunted their resumes in the industry with an experience of two years and got better jobs. These foolish intelligent guys were obviously freshers and deserved less than them.
Moral: So you may have fun for two years after engineering; goto Goa, roam around with your girl friend and then finally struggle for six months to be in a better position.
Pointers:
Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Satyam, I mean name any big brand, there are atleast 30% of people joining them via lateral hiring with fake experiences. These people fake their experience their payslips and get a good pay and better grade than the ones who are genuine. These big companies which boast about background verifications do very little to stop it. If anyone has to say anything against my word, I can prove my statements.
One another technology which has fallen prey to these fake guys is SAP. Every Tom D**k and Harry goes to some place in Hyderabad to get software installed for Rs.2000 i.e. a mere $50 on their machines and get courses learnt for a mere Rs. 10000 i.e ($250) and thats it once done, these people call themselves a 3 yr experienced and get paid almost 100 times their SAP tution fee.
Is this the only way to go ahead? If so, one can enjoy his school, college and everything, finally buy couple of certificates and one PC with printers to print his fake resume and submit it. Thats it he would have a better situation than the guy who slogged all his life?
I dont remember the ending of the story by SomerSet Maugham but today atleast the grasshopper wins. Will there be some change in this pattern?
Final word, I think even the NASSCOM is sleeping.

India = Chaos. Why?
In my first job, I learnt a Acronym called RCCA - Root Cause & Corrective Action. Have we ever applied the same thing to the situations in India? I dont think so.
When I think why my country is in chaos, I get only one answer - Population. Our ancestors behaved only like pigs, rather than humans with brains. They had families in the multiples of tens. They have never foreseen what is going to happen to our country because of thier stupid way.
Today if you see the money is unevenly spread across the people. Few people are living in an unimaginably worse circumstances. For ex, if you goto Nagapattinam the place where Tsunami struck sometime before ...
The people living there are wondering why they survived the Tsunami
Snakes come into their houses every night
Children are sleeping in such circumstances.
Ground water is mixed with chemicals and drainage.
However Mr.Karunanidhi is having fun in his Airconditioned Bungalows.
If you take a sample example. Lets place two kids together. Offer an Icecream to one. The other Child will also get tempted to have one. However he cannot. After a while his urge to eat an ice cream gets intensified and then he may take extreme steps to get an ice cream.
Similar is the world, when you find a few enjoying life like anything and the others starving, the starving would obviously rebuke and start becoming extremists causing violence.
Who is doing all this? - I expect the reader to answer this question
If we observe the amount of people that pay tax in India is 3% (published by Times of India). That only means that the country is banking on its development with only this meagre amount.
Why is government not collecting tax from the remaining? Why are many general stores not giving receipts? Where is the VAT wrt them? Where is the sales tax?
Not to mention most of this tax comes from fools, i.e. the innocent, gullible software engineers who don't have a way other than paying the tax, yet the remaining population which is corrupt makes slanderous remarks about us and our industry. The buggers who squeeze a lot of rental amounts from us do not pay any tax. Poor fellows these IT engineers don't have time to stand in a line to complain. However they can file their compliants online which is not available and we know how efficient these depts are.
Out of all this nonsense and darkness I can see some light. I think future of this country is still left in the hands of this 3% innocents. The only way we can air our loud voices is first we should be clean not allowing anyone to practice illegal practices. Then we should educate atleast ten others around our community to be good and practice justice. This becomes 30% very soon and then turns to be 100% in a second stage. Folks lets try.
I know we are donating a lot in form of tax, however still lets categorize some money and time for the needy. Lets donate this money into the right hands. Invest some time to educate the masses to shape this country into a good one.
First thing is stop bribing. I know its tough, however this is the only way.
Lets see a wonderful India.
Jai Hind.

Indian's Cheat --- said by a foreigner
Two years back one of my friend came to Hyderabad, India. His experiences went like this.
1. Our Assistant Manager - training, who claims to be the best hospitable person, offered them Chicken Biriyani and left. The poor chap could hardly have a spoon of it.
2. Their stay was never taken care of.
3. They went outside, to shop for their people to Hyderabad central in a Auto-Rickshaw. The driver took them for a ride. He drove them all over the city and made a big bill. However when they finally got down at Central he started demanding more money, and infact asked them to pay in Dollars.
4. After the entire tiff with the auto driver all they found out was that Central was closed and opens only at 10.00 in the morning. Alas, they returned back.
So finally after two years now I went to USA and met this guy. Infront of my co-Indians and others he explianed the situation and scorned at India saying Indians take leverage of foreigners and misbehave. Myself and my Indian fraternity didn't have a word to support India as because we ourselves have got cheated by people in India.
Do you think we deserve this kind of humiliation when we are abroad? I think YES, as long as our people are reluctant to change and our politicians are busy making money rather than working for the country.

Indian Railways --- Welcome to Hell
Due to fiscal situations, I had to take a train this time to my hometown, Visakhapatnam. First welcome into the compartment,AC 2 Tier, is the Air Condition is not working. Second there is no water in the restrooms. I paid good amount to travel in this train, however the MIB aliens, cockroaches, were freely moving in the compartment. This is what happens when you get into the most prestigious Indian Railways trains.
Additional to this you will find people who bark over their phones as long as the signal persists, even without thinking about others. Few show off their gadgets by playing music in louder volumes. Can we ever expect all these things to change?

Money to file an FIR?
Recently when I was in USA, one of my friend was using my car. One night when he parked my car infront of his house, some miscreants scratched it completely on the bonnet. When he went to the police station to file a compliant the Sub Inspector (SI) asked him money, in other words BRIBE, to file one and give a receipt.
After I came back, to claim the insurance, my insurance guy asked for a police compliant and when I tried for it the SI asked me for Rs.3000/-
Guys this is India, I don't know to whom should I complain about this. The police inspector who is supposed to do justice to me is asking money to even take a complaint.
The newspapers are busy to publish about Bhutto's assasination and Karnataka Govt's crisis. They don't have an ear for people like me. God help us.
