Puri: Two days after a 27-year-old woman was gang raped at a Konark beach after being dragged out of a bus with nearly 50 passengers on board, police say it wasn’t recovery agents out to reclaim debt but vagabonds and bad characters who committed the shocking crime. According to the police here, the woman was a tourist returning to Puri from Konark accompanied by a relative, and that the rape was planned in advance. Four of the five accused have been arrested. “Two of the five accused were making lewd remarks at the woman right from the time she got on to the bus. Her relative’s presence seemed to make no difference to them. All this while another accused was chasing the bus on a motorcycle,” said inspector Sanatan Panigrahi of Konark police station. “The accused pounced on the woman once the bus reached a lonely stretch, stopped the bus and dragged her out. The man on the bike too reached the spot and they took her to a nearby forest and raped her,” Panigrahi said. All this while her relative was screaming for help, but none came to her rescue. “Then, two more men arrived and joined in the heinous crime,” Panigrahi added.
What is happening, 50 people didnt try stopping 5? Should there be a case and enquiry and interrogation? Are the fifty dumb that they even cant be the alibis?
These five should be hung in the center or a big ground with all citizens watching it. And the remaining 50 in the bus should also be punished for thier inhumane act.
Out of the way, where are the mahila morchas, Women liberation organizations, Women protection orgs??? Sleeping?????? Wake up
There is some social responsibility that should lie in everyone of us. We all should write to the govt, newspapers demanding serious actions. Come on people, please wake up and fight for justice.
