I went to the Bangalore City Railway station to receive my relatives. Went very early, 6AM and as usual I carried three rupee coins to get the platform ticket. Took the ticket and moved to platform number 3 for the train. As I just went up the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) a middle aged person came and asked for ticket. I showed him. Then came others who did not have tickets and ...
In the meanwhile I just saw a lady in tears and waving to someone in a leaving train on the platform. She just walked up the stairs only to be questioned for a platform ticket. She is not the only one, there were many other who did not have a ticket.
The amazing part of this story is
1. The fine for not having a platform ticket is Rs.270. You know the ticket is only Rs.3.
2. None of the Ticket examiners took bribe. They made every one cough up the entire money.
The unfortunate part of the story is the girl who got caught was wearing a leather bag which had Microsoft written on it, wearing a Tommy Hilfiger watch and Nike sandals.
Everyone was checked and defaulters were made to pay. I really felt very happy to see such positive changes.
